Last message on tracking was:

2017-01-09 11:27:50.0
leaving Guangzhou Airport going to next airport/seaport

Destination is Australia so no tracking available after the above entry.

How long does it typically take to reach Australia after last entry ?

Does the parcel sit on the ground for days or weeks before getting on the next plane ?

1. The above tracking means that the parcel has pass the Security and Customs check and is On Route/In Transit to your country. The mail bag is at the Airport and scheduling for the mail bag is done for an Aircraft.

2. Average time for parcel to Australia should be around approximately 2 - 3 weeks if everything go well.

Some feedback:

Package arrived within 8 days of the notification of leaving Guangzhou airport
Package arrived within 10 days of being received by China Post.

For me that is excellent service considering the tens of thousands of packages that are process daily.
