Post Follow Up on Problems with Shipments via Guangzhou

On June 8, 2016, I have posted some important observations in this forum in regard to problems with shipments which have to go through the Guangzhou airport. You may find the post here http://track-chinapost.com/?page_id=242/china-post-forum-group1/china-post-discussion-forum14/problems-with-shipments-via-guangzhou-thread14806.

It seems like the problem has not gotten better but is becoming much-much worse. I may consider myself as being unlucky. But, it seems like there are also others who have been experiencing the same problem.

Initially, the problem was that shipments tend to get stuck at the Guangzhou airport. These shipments arrived at the Guangzhou airport and were sent to airline around 4 - 9 times (and nobody knows when the process is going to end and nobody will ever know if and when these shipments will be able to leave the Guangzhou airport). In other words these shipments were held up at the Guangzhou airport for a very-very long period. Every 1 -2 days the new status will read that the same process is happening again - arrive at the Guangzhou airport - sent to airline - repeat.

Some of my shipments which are currently facing this problem are RM694676831CN, RM679884457CN, RS050284035CN, and RS074910304CN.

If that is considered not that bad (or normal), then, most recently there is a new development to this same issue.

Two of my shipments with tracking numbers RJ783995956CN and RO229881973CN which contains only a piece of t-shirt in each shipment went through the same process initially i.e. arrive at the Guangzhou airport - sent to airline – repeat (for 4 – 5 times). However, to my surprise, instead of these shipments get on board of an airplane, it was returned back to the sender (seller). The biggest question is, since when t-shirts have become prohibited items with China customs? If yes, then, seriously these people are very incompetent and a disgrace.

To a certain extent I would also consider myself as lucky. Since, I am monitoring the movements of my shipments on a daily basis. So, once I see this happening, I have instantly filed disputes against these orders and provided proofs. Therefore, I am managed to get back my money (since my purchases are still within the buyer protection period).

I have come across cases whereby some buyers are unaware of this problem and were waiting for their shipments to arrive. Some even asked in this forum why the status of their shipment says “Delivered” but they did not even receive them? The answer is simply that these shipments are delivered back to seller and not the buyer. And these sellers have not even informed buyers that their shipments did not managed to get passed the Guangzhou airport customs – even when there are only t-shirts inside.

So here I would like to take this opportunity to advise buyers to closely monitor their purchases and shipments. In particular, shipments with tracking numbers starting with alphabets RD, RM, RO, RS, and RJ (some cases). These tracking numbers tend to have to go through the Guangzhou airport. I will keep on monitoring whether tracking numbers starting with other alphabets are also experiencing the same problems and will keep us updated from time to time.

today i received a tracking number for my one of my order i.e. RS050284035CN , but for some reason it doesn't looks like a genuine tracking number to me .
And even if i try to track it , i am encountered by an error "Parcel#RS123053300CN is invalid, China Post has not received any parcel associated with !"
I know it might be too early to state anything , but every time i get a tracking number and i try to track it within 12 hrs and theres always a electronic data received msg .

And i even feel theirs something shady about the seller , but at the same time there are no negative reviews against him .

Both are $6 and $7 t-shirts. Not jersey replicas. No copyright issue(s) anywhere. Besides, if it is forbidden, then, why returned the items back to the seller? It should be seized, correct?

Besides, if now copyright has become an issue with customs in China, then, it is obvious that China custom is sleeping in a broad daylight.

99% of items sold at AliExpress, DHgate, etc. online marketplaces in China are selling counterfeit items. Closed AliBaba, AliExpress, DHgate, etc. if they are sincere to crack down on counterfeits.

AliBaba, AliExpress, DHgate, etc. and all online marketplaces in China are dens of pirates who are stealing others' copy righted items. And these pirates are making tons of Greens year in year out.

1. At the bottom of the China Post Forbidden Item List, this is what I found:

If you have above mentioned items and detected by safety or customs officer, the parcel will be rejected or even destroyed. For a specific item, this policy is performed as per officer’s personal judgement. Therefore, even not quite common, it is possible that same kind of products might be released or rejected by different officers in different customs or airports .

The forbidden item list and policy are keep changing by China Government, China Post and airline authorities, we will do our best to keep above list updated with latest policy.

Hope this help.

Then, obviously they are not doing enough to combat the issue of counterfeit items which if true and sincerely is their concern.

If we want to put a stop to something, then, address the main issue which is the source of these counterfeits. Which if you ask me is the marketplace where these items are traded. When there is no market, there will be no trade. When there's no supply there will be no demand. A very simple Economics rule applied here.

It is not right and unethical to keep others' hard earned money while we are waiting helplessly on our purchases. Which obviously will not arrive. And if these t-shirts are regarded as counterfeits, then, why during the first two scans i.e. Export security scan and Export customs scan, these customs (officers) can't detect that these t-shirts are forbidden items? Why must after 4-5 times the same package arrived at the Guangzhou airport and sent to airline, then only they decide to return it back to the seller/sender? This to a large extent supports my claim that customs at the Guangzhou airport are sleeping during broad daylight or just incompetent.

Besides, I would say that if sellers have knowledge about this problem, then, it is a false intent on the sellers' part since they do know that by all means these shipments will not get passed the China customs. And eventually these shipments will be returned back to them and they will be able to keep buyers' money if buyers are unaware of this situation. Then, why should they continue to sell (even simple t-shirts with no copyright issue, nothing) to foreigners? Best if they just keep their market closed to themselves like it was before.
