Hello,

2 Packeges arrived they told in the tracking they where EMS ePacket was China Post ePacket

Best Regards

There are actually a couple of different kinds of ePacket: ePacket collected by China EMS, ePacket collected by China Post, etc. But for most purposes there should be no difference between them. Delivery time should be similar as well.

At a minimum, China Post tracking numbers starting with LF, LH, LK, LM, LN, LS, LW, LX, LZ are all ePacket services.

Im realy not sure if is so how you told. because I have some tracking numbers for example three LF numbers, and all show me "sent to airline" like china post airmail.

And some packeges that arrived allready had not this status in the tracking, for example , two LX and one LM number. They showed me "leaving parcel center beijing (China) FRA", next status was the scanning in destination country

Im bewildered, because the "sent to airline" status is known for classic china post airmail with R tracking number

LX and LM are China Post ePacket (similar to EMS), LF is actually China post register mail.

Why does China Post Airmail have an LF Tracking Number?

Which way is an China Post Airmail going, respectively why is it slower than China Post ePacket ?

CP parcel if weight over 2kg, it will go through surface which is very very slow. If less than 2kg, parcel will go airmail.

Do you mean China Post Airmail/Registered Mail? Or CP as in "tracking number starting with CP"? To avoid confusion it's best not to abbreviate -- like chinapostvolunteer says, tracking numbers starting with CP can be China Post Surface Parcels, which like all surface mail can be desperately slow. 😛

China Post Airmail is just that -- ordinary mail, sent by airplane, just like if you put a stamp on a letter and mailed it. It doesn't usually have tracking, and if it does, it has an 11 digit tracking number that works only in China.

Registered Airmail is a fairly old-fashioned service that's supposed to be similar across all countries.
Delivery speed is roughly the same as non-registered airmail. Some of the differences are:

  • items are barcoded with an internationally trackable barcode (although not all countries provide this tracking online)
  • the delivering postal service is supposed to obtain proof of delivery when the item is delivered (like a signature)
  • the sender recieves a receipt proving they mailed the item, and can use it to ask for proof of delivery (though actually obtaining it can take 30-60 days or more)

Because of how the economics of the Universal Postal Union work, destination countries get paid relatively little for delivering incoming Airmail/Registered Airmail items. Nowadays, many postal operators don't treat these items with very high priority, as a way of encouraging people to switch to more expensive mailing services, like ePacket and EMS -- both of which are faster and have better tracking.

Okay , I understand :)

A China Post Registered Airmail have L Tracking Numbers too, like my LF Tracking Numbers, detected as China Post in 17Track and AfterShip

I hoped all Tracking Numbers with L are ePacket and 17Track/AfterShip show me wrong courir :))
