Hello,

I recently bought an item from AliExpress. I chose the shipping method as ePacket and paid for the shipping fees.

When I received my shipping confirmation, it said that my package was shipped with China Air Post (my order confirmation still says I chose ePacket as my shipping method).

When I confronted the seller about it, she said she changed my shipping method because she said ePacket time is slow now and there is a backlog.

Is this allowed ?!

She changed it without my permission, didn't notify me, and just assumed it would be okay. Have you guys heard of this practice ? I am still in the process of trying to resolve this at the moment. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update:

I told her to resend a new item free of charge since this is her error (since this package is to be shipped to my customer). She replies back with this message:

"LM122579672CN Hello, this is the correct tracking number of your package, thank you"

Do you know if this tracking number even valid or did she make it up ? Thanks

1. The above tracking number LM122579672CN is a valid tracking number. It can take up to 10 days for the parcel to be register into the China Post system.

2. If by any chances the parcel is going to Canada, please be aware that E Packet to Canada can take from 2.5 to 3.5 weeks to get to Customs and out of Customs.

2. It seems lately that Canada Customs are scanning physically every parcel coming to Canada. So that why it's taking that long for E Packet.

3. Just for your info, normal Register Air Mail from China to Canada can take from 6 to 8 weeks before delivery plus the fact that it can not be track in Canada. E Packet can be track on Canada Post site.

Hi ,

Thanks a lot for your reply and information, it was very helpful.

She actually shipped out my parcel and provided me with a China Register Air Mail Tracking number. Then, she changes my shipping method to ePacket and gives me the tracking number "LM122579672CN".

However, its the same order confirmation, every detail is the same except for the shipping method and the tracking number.

This is why it feels strange because how can she change the shipping method and tracking number to a parcel already shipped our and provided with the China Register Air Mail tracking number ?

1. The other parcel was not ship out. Technically every seller is asking electronically for a tracking number to China Post, then from that tracking number is also the Customs declaration and finally they mail the parcel.

2. So because they are press by the site where they sell their articles to make it quick out for shipping, sometimes seller are telling customer that the parcel was mail out but in fact the parcel is still in their hand.

3. This is why we have the rule of up to 10 days waiting period before a parcel can be track on China Post. Personally It did happen to me like it took 9 days before the E Packet tracking was available.

Oh I see. Wow, thanks I had no idea they would do that. Based on your knowledge, do u think she was being truthful then that ePacket is actually going to be slower at this time ? Like slower than China Register Air Mail ?

1. China Post Register Air Mail to Canada, normally all parcel from China Post land in Vancouver inbound Mail warehouse should take from 6 to 8 weeks before delivery. That is when the parcel was mail in China until deliver to the Canadian recipient.

2. Normally E Packet to Canada, normally all parcel from China Post land in Vancouver inbound Mail warehouse should take from 6 to 12 working days to be deliver that is excluding the time spent at the Customs Offices in China and Canada.

3. But since September 2016 Canada Customs I suspect are scanning every parcel to see if there is any contraband or illegal importation into the Canadian territory. By doing that the parcel are delays like 21 days so far. So if the parcel lets say departed China on the 7 Nov then around the 28 Nov you should see something like that:
Location: RICHMOND
Description: Item has arrived in Canada and was sent for further processing.

4. E Packet anywhere when is available is always faster then Register Air Mail anywhere in the World. Maybe the seller does not understand the standard for delivery of E Packet.

You know, I'm just worried that she shipped it already and just came up with a Tracking Number to disguise her error (or to get me off her case). Is there any way of confirming she didn't actually send the parcel already ?

I really appreciate your help and insight into this matter !

1. Then only thing you can do is track both parcel. Eventually you will see if they can be track or not. Don't forget the 10 days rule.

Do you have any insight as to what this means ?
So my China Post Mail tracking number is RN131471081CN.
The status shows at "Posted". It says it was received by the Post Office on this date October 22, 2016.

Does that mean she did ship out the original item with China Post and maybe used a fake parcel for my ePacket to get an ePacket tracking number? (I feel she wouldn't send a duplicate of the same item, she could literally have wrapped anything, like a pencil, and sent that to seem like she changed it to ePacket")

Any help would be appreciated, thanks !
